Postmortem
Three Things That Went Well
1) Our teamwork was great, there was no conflict. We all agreed on the ideas, and we talked a lot about how we wanted to do things. Everyone was flexible.
2) The physical interaction turned out great. The book looked nice, and it appeared exactly how we envisioned it.
3) The Twine/QR Codes also worked well. They contained what we needed and the layout was easy to read and navigate.
Three Things That Could've Gone Better
1) We needed to test our game more. We did not do it nearly enough and I believe that's ultimately why it didn't work at the showcase. We didn't spot the problems and create solutions.
2) The interaction between the digital and physical portions could have been much better. I think it appeared like we had both stories running separately in Twine and in the book rather than integrated. Either way, it did not run seamlessly.
3) We needed to meet more out of class. We had class time to work together but there were sometimes we weren't in class together, and we just needed to work on it together more rather than do our sections separately on our own.
Re-do
If we had a chance to do the project again, we would test it more to make sure it works. We would also look in to the limitations of Twine because that ultimately might have been something that let us down. The QR codes may have been a hindrance than a help in the book. The QR codes linking the each page in the Twine game made it so the user does not really need to click the advance buttons on Twine, so it did not make a lot of sense. It is also plausible that we would just go in a completely different direction idea wise for the project if we had a chance to do it again.
